Haha, I hear you. I have no idea where the cat obsession thing came from. I will never, EVER see him as cat obsessed. Ever. Period. (I see people post about it all the time, too. Is it just fanon?)
I do like that he's finally opening up and becoming more personable, but I love the reminders that he *IS* a former-murdering badass who is more of a newly minted anti-hero. He's not really a good guy. I think they do give him enough menacing one-liners and casual kills to maintain this, but I think they quietly swept how bad of a person he was under the rug. I'd like to see him struggle to be a good guy now and again. Knowing he shouldn't do something but also knowing in the past he'd have done it without a second thought.
